Jasper Johns Design project
The 1st Grade students learned about artist Jasper Johns and his colored and patterned design paintings. Students used rulers to create a grid that was filled with either numbers, partial alphabet letter, or their name. They then went over the pattern with either 3 warm or cool colored crayons and black was added to the lines. Three opposite warm or cool colors were painted over top to create a grid system. Students then mounted their pictures on black paper. Enjoy!
