Assessment:
1. Students will draw one of the clip art animals or a self-portrait on their 8.5x11 paper. ____/5
2. Students will break the inside area of the animal into 4 separate parts as demonstrated. ____/5
3. Students will break up the background area into 4 separate parts. ____/5
4. Students will choose 4 colors to use for their painting which they will start their painting with. ____/5
5. Students will apply paint as demonstrated mixing their 4 colors with white and black to create
tints and shades of each color. ____/5
6. Students will paint in their entire picture using the 4 color mix using good craftsmanship so the picture is painted in a clear manner. ____/5
I can statement:
I can draw the clip art animal in, not trace using the grid technique.
I can use 4 colors for my entire picture using white (tint) and black (shade) to vary the value of the color. .
I can balance my picture out using the line separation technique using the 4 corners technique.
