Poem illustration project

artworks from historical and contemporary eras.

Assessment:
1. Student will select a poem from the provided in class selections to use for their poem. _____/2
2. Student wil create a list of word from their poem that they can represent visually on
the back of their paper with their name which includes at least 5 to 6 words with
practice sketches to use in their final piece. . _____/5
3. Students will create a practice sketch of their illustration which will be the blueprint for their
final illustration composition. _____/5
4. Craftsmanship, the student has drawn in their illustration lightly, water color painted the illustration
using the technique demonstrated in the painting tutorial, drawn with fine point pen over the original
line work, and written their poem in over or around the picture as well. _____/10
5. The picture is mounted so that the mounting paper/board is even around the outside
edge and a name tag is filled out with first and last name and includes the students teacher
on the name tag paper provided ____/3
Enrichment:
Students who would like to use more than 6 images are encouraged to do so.
Remediation:
Students who are having trouble with comping up with visual images of words may work with Mr.Kacur
in creating at least 3 images for their illustration.
