The kindergarten students looked at artwork by artist Henri Matisse and created colorful watercolor flowers of their own. They used 3-6x6 inch pieces of paper, drew the 3 different flower shapes on them using as much of the paper as they could, then they used 2 different colored pastel crayons to add details to the inside and painted the outside with watercolor paint that had contrasting colors to the interior. Once the kids flowers were dry they were laminated and cut out. Stems and leaves were added and flowers were displayed in the windows of VES to welcome spring.
