SUNSET PICTURE
The second grade students created a sunset landscape picture using cool colors at the bottom and warm colors at the top. They first sketched in the contour lines then used marker to create a gradient effect.
Assessment:
1. Students will draw their scene in using the tutorial below to create depth in the picture. ____/5
They will first draw a horizon. and additional horizon line.
2. Students will draw in a sun and cloud and add rounded sunbeam lines which will be colored in later.

3. Students will draw in tulips, daffodils, or sunflower shaped flowers as demonstrated in class. Flowers
will start off large and get smaller as they get closer to the horizon line to create a sense of perspective. _____/5
4. Craftsmanship, students will make their areas separated through use of clean boarder lines and
neatly color filled areas _____/5
5. Students will color in the top half of the picture using warm colors. Students will color in the
bottom half of the picture using cool colors. ____/5
